What's wrong with this picture?

Yesterday, I woke up to the sound of sirens and the occasional missile drop near my house. I wasn't prepared for such a quick transition from football into war, so I used the opportunity to take care of all kinds of things I usually don't have time to deal with on a Sunday morning, like my bank account and some emails I've been delaying for too long. By noon, my sister was on her way from Tel-Aviv to take my parents to a safer area. A lot of my friends called, asking me to join them in Tel-Aviv, but something stopped me from going there. I don't know what it was exactly, but I'm slowly beginning to realize it's my nature to deal with things, instead of running away.
I was very productive and by 14:30 I was done working. I chilled out a bit, read a book and listened to music for a couple of hours. The weather was great, so I decided to go the beach and feel the atmosphere. I must admit the beach is much nicer during war time - It was practically empty, quiet and clean, except for a fisherman, a naked guy, a beautiful girl and myself. I couldn't help noticing the intelligence airplane going back and forth above.
I became hungry, so I went home, fixed myself some rice with vegetables and watered the garden. Everything was quiet and peaceful. I called my best friend to see how he's doing up north and we went into a backgammon game on Play 65. He must have been tired, because I won 3-0 and took all of his money.
Happy with my victory, I started reading some of my favorite blocs and while doing so found out that Opera 9 is now Freeware, so I installed it and immediately started checking out the Hebrew support on Israeli websites, which I don't usually read, but a browser must be checked, you know?! While diving into the Israeli web I came across some articles talking about the corruption of the Israeli army. I was quite shocked, I must admit, not from the army being corrupt, but from the fact the Israeli press was actually talking about it.
One link led to another and I found myself reading this post on the Lebanese Political Journal and the comments associated with it. It's a long page, filled with so many comments I had to reread the post to remember what this guy was writing about originally. The sad story of the reality of war - after a while nobody remembers what the mess was all about to begin with.
I couldn't help the feeling 90% of the comments, and even the post itself, had a lot of the arguments resembling what's being said on TV. I guess it's natural, but who does it serve really? Definitely not me nor this guy calling himself LEBANON.PROFILE.
I wanted to see what was being said about Haifa on Blogger, so I used the search box to look for Haifa and 1st result on the page was This post on Blogging The Middle East. This guy, calling himself "Anarchistian" actually sounds like the voice of Nasrallah on the internet. What can I say, he must be either very young or very stupid if he thinks Mr. Nasrallah actually gives a damn about him while the "jets are buzzing" above his head.
I think the greatest tragedy of our time, more than the war itself, is our identification with what's being offered to us by TV and other mass media controlled by interest groups. Last month it was Ronaldinho vs. the world and now Nasrallah vs. Olmert. Doesn't it seem weird to anyone that this outburst of violence began shortly after the mondial ended? I have some news for you people - there are no winners in war, only casualties, and no one gets a red ticket for foul play, so before you take a side offered to you by TV, please turn the damned machine off and think about your personal side, your family, friends, and your real interests in life and start expressing these views. I think too much resect is given to armed corrupt men in this part of the world. Don't you think it's time for something new?
